established in 2016
In 2012, after going to the South Carolina State Fair, our family began dreaming of some day having a farm. I was in the Army at the time though and with only 6 years of service we figured our dream would be at least 14 years down the road after retirement from the Army. Then in 2013, I was struck with multiple severe health issues that led to my being medically retired from the Army in 2015. Suddenly our dream was not years and years away, it was here now. While my health issues would limit my abilities around the farm, we figured by taking it slow, one day at a time, and working together, we could have something like the small family farm of our dreams.
In May of 2016 we moved onto our farm and began our adventure as a farm family. We began with a small flock of chickens (32 hens, I know maybe not so small). That flock has continued to grow over time.
In August of 2018, after all the work of fencing and barn building, we brought home our first set of Nigerian Dwarf goats. Four does and two bucks as the foundation of our dairy herd.
And the adventure continues…
